In an attempt to address some of the imbalances and inequality in the current education system, Cargo Classroom celebrates the resilience and visionary leadership of black individuals, putting forward missing narratives from our past. POLAROIDTAPES, an independent platform for creativity and Cargo Classrooms have partnered together to elevate this message through the lens of fashion. Across two months in the summer of 2021, creatives from all backgrounds were invited to create and submit a sustainable fashion piece or design that is inspired by one of the four figures within the Cargo Classroom revolutionary series. Three winners were selected at the end of the competition winning a cash prize of £1500 and £250 respectively. All creatives from around the world were invited to participate, with the competition closing in October.
